A Calavera Catrina Mask inspired by the Mexican Sugar Skull and the story of Catarina de San Juan.

This is a wearable papier mache mask that looks good worn for a fancy dress/masquerade/day of the dead celebration or equally stunning on a wall in your home as a 3D work of art.

Note:

This mask is now on display in Venice but a similar style can be made to order.

A made to order mask with this amount of detail will require a minimum of 8-12 weeks to create.

Description

A mix of cultures, this mask is inspired by Catarina de San Juan, an Asian slave who according to legend was owned by a family from India, stolen by pirates and taken to Mexico.

Her Sugar Skull face paint is based on the Indian Mehndi (henna) designs and have been aged with a craquelure glaze and patina.

She wears red fabric roses atop her head.
